Personally Speaking – Episode 15

In this episode of Personally Speaking, we’ve taken a trip across the pond to Houston, where Client Account Manager, Christine Burton, interviews Sales Development Representative, Peyton Sulak.

Christine and Peyton discuss Peyton’s recent learnings about Global Mobility, and how her experience moving from teaching into sales has taught her about connection, understanding people, and problem solving.

Christine and Peyton talked about what our ethos, ‘because it’s personal’ means to them, and the importance of problem solving on an individual level for assignees, as relocation is such a significant, yet personal life experience.

Peyton analysed the similarities she has seen between teaching and sales – notably how she was previously selling solutions to her students, as well as earning trust in return for credibility.

Christine and Peyton both feel that their background in sport has taught them valuable life skills that they have carried forward into their careers. Christine’s basketball experience taught her not to stay fixated on losses, and Peyton’s volleyball experience taught her skills like preparation, leadership, and team building.

Finally,Christine shares her advice with Peyton, following over a decade of experience at K2: don’t be afraid to ask questions, as curiosity can only expand your knowledge base.
