K2 Raises the Flag for the Sustainable Development Goals

On 25th September, K2 will once again join organisations around the world in raising the SDG Flag to mark the anniversary of the United Nations adoption of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The SDGs were adopted by all UN Member States in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. They provide a shared framework for tackling some of the world’s most pressing social, environmental and economic challenges, from quality education and gender equality to responsible consumption, climate action and sustainable communities.

As we approach 2030, the emphasis is increasingly shifting from commitments to meaningful action. The UN Global Compact Network UK’s 2026 SDG Flag Day campaign brings organisations together to demonstrate their continued support for the Goals and highlight the role businesses can play in advancing sustainable development.

K2’s commitment to the SDGs

As a participant of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), K2 is committed to embedding responsible and sustainable practices across our business.

While all 17 SDGs are interconnected, K2 continues to focus on the Goals where we can make the greatest contribution:

  • SDG 5 – Gender Equality ‍
  • SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth ‍
  • SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production ‍
  • SDG 15 – Life on Land ‍
  • SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals

These priorities reflect areas that are particularly relevant to our business, our people and the communities in which we operate.

K2’s approach to sustainability goes beyond a single day or campaign. From our environmental and social initiatives to the way we work with clients, partners and colleagues around the world, we continue to look for opportunities to make a positive and lasting contribution.

Turning commitment into action

Our global Sustainability Champions play an important role in bringing K2’s sustainability programme to life, helping to drive initiatives and encourage action across our offices and teams.

But meaningful progress depends on all of us. Whether it is making more responsible choices in our day-to-day work, supporting sustainability initiatives, getting involved in community projects or sharing ideas for positive change, everyone at K2 has a part to play.

By raising the SDG Flag on 25th September, we are joining a growing global movement and reaffirming our commitment to working towards a more sustainable future.

Linda Rafferty, Global Head of Compliance & ESG comments:

"Sustainability is an important part of our long-term approach, and the SDGs provide a framework for turning our commitments into meaningful action. By engaging our people and embedding these principles across our organisation, we can contribute to positive and lasting impact."

‍

Together, we can continue to turn our sustainability commitments into action.
