2002

A humble start, a clear vision

K2 was founded by Nick Plummer and Richard Rutledge in a front room in West London, UK, on the belief that mobility could be more human, more personal, and more client-focused.

Over two decades later, we remain one of the only owner-operated global mobility companies. That independence brings agility, consistency, and a relentless commitment to service that continues to define every client partnership.

2004

Growing global reach

We begin our global expansion, building a presence in key locations around the world. This gives our clients on-the-ground knowledge and consistent support across borders, helping them relocate talent with confidence.

2010

Advisory services introduced

We launch professional advisory services to help clients optimise their mobility strategy. By aligning relocation goals with wider business aims, we empower HR and mobility leaders to get more from their programmes. It is now known as K2 Indx within the K2 Group.

2013

Africa & APAC expansion

Offices open in South Africa & Australia, joining Singapore in our APAC network. This helps us bring more local insight to regional relocations and gives clients deeper support across emerging markets.

2015

ISO 9001 & 14001 accreditations

We achieve ISO accreditation for quality management and environmental standards. This formalises our commitment to delivering reliable service and sustainable operations for every client and assignee. Read more about them here.

2016

ISO 27001 and MEA expansion

With ISO 27001, we strengthen our information security approach. We also open in Dubai. Together, these moves reassure clients that their data is safe and their Middle East needs are expertly covered.

2017

The launch of Aspire

We launch our five-year business strategy: Aspire. It provides clarity and direction for our teams. Clients benefit from focused service goals, greater consistency, and a partner always pushing to improve.

2018

Immigration launch

We bring immigration expertise to the group, ensuring better integration and accountability. This helps clients manage complex moves with fewer touchpoints and more consistent compliance. It is now known as K2 X Border within the K2 Group.

2019

K2 Bespoke is introduced

K2 Bespoke launches as a premium relocation service for senior leaders and their families. It sets a new standard for high-touch mobility, giving clients a solution tailored to their most valued talent.

2021

New offices in the Americas & Europe

São Paulo, Miami and Paris join our global footprint. This enhances regional capability and ensures clients have local experts guiding each move, every step of the way.

2022

Kinetic strategy launched

Following Aspire’s success, we launch Kinetic to drive the next chapter. This ensures we continue to evolve our service to meet clients’ changing needs in a dynamic mobility landscape.

Global celebration in Barcelona

We bring our global team together in Barcelona to celebrate 20 years. This milestone reaffirms our purpose: building strong relationships that benefit our clients and their people.

Our communications agency, Twelve Degrees, supports one of the world’s largest hedge funds. Clients now have access to creative comms that support change and mobility engagement.
